LAMPa is delighted to announce Bishop Bryan Penman has appointed the Rev. Leah Woehr-Grande to LAMPa’s Policy Council as a representative of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod.

Pastor Woehr-Grande has served as Lead Pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Royersford, PA since December 2024. A native of Bucks County, PA, and a life-long Lutheran, Woehr-Grande graduated from Luther College (Decorah, IA) in 1997. She then worked as a professional craftswoman for twenty years, including as a ceramist/tile maker for the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works Museum. For four years as a young adult, she immersed herself in a Mennonite community and was greatly influenced by their ministries rooted in peace/justice work and by the incredible sense of welcome and commitment to community she experienced with them. In 2017 she graduated from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament. Woehr-Grande served her first two pastoral calls in East Central Synod of WI, and while there, served non-profit boards for the Interfaith Food Pantry in Plover, WI, and for One Big Tent of Portage County. She also served her WI communities walking with her neighbors as a chaplain for the county sheriff’s department and local police departments.

“Pastor Woehr-Grande is a faithful leader,” said Bishop Penman, “who reflects on the intersection of faith and life grounded in encouraging us to be faithful followers of Jesus. She’s a mom, a pastor, and she grew up here in PA. She is one who will help draw our attention to the needs in our community by calling us to faithful civic action.”

Pastor Leah delights in the movement of the Holy Spirit, and has a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, social justice, racial equity, art & theology, spiritual discernment, and ecumenical partnerships. She affirms and celebrates the unique gifts of LGBTQIA+ persons as beloved children of God. She feels blessed to love and serve the neighbor near and far in response to the unconditional love that she herself has received from God.

“I am pleased to serve on LAMPa’s Policy Council,” said Woehr-Grande. “Rooted in my baptismal calling, I feel called to dive deeper into advocacy ministry and to put my passion for serving with a justice-oriented focus to good work in a world that aches for love, reconciliation, justice, and peace.
