Legislation to protect vulnerable residents of manufactured home communities from skyrocketing rent increases by increasingly distant corporate ownership has passed the state House with bipartisan support. LAMPa is working with residents and lawmakers to advance a solution, and is looking for your help.

Typically, residents own their homes but not the land. Once largely locally owned, these are being purchased by private equity firms that are taking advantage of that vulnerability, homeowners and bill backers report. Relocating the homes is expensive, and, for some, impossible, leaving them open to exploitation. Read media coverage here.
