DESCRIPTION:Join the Food Resource & Action Center (FRAC) for their webinar “School Breakfast 101: Implementing Innovative Breakfast Models.” \nThe webinar will take place Thursday\, March 7\, at 3:00 p.m. \nThe School Breakfast program supports student health and learning and improves school attendance; however\, traditional breakfast models\, where breakfast is served before the start of the school day\, hinder participation. Innovative breakfast models\, such as Breakfast After the Bell\, are effective ways to boost participation and ensure children start their day ready to learn. \nYou can join the FRAC this National School Breakfast Week to learn how schools are supporting student success through innovative breakfast models. \nThe FRAC improves the nutrition\, health\, and well-being of people struggling against poverty-related hunger in the United States through advocacy\, partnerships\, and by advancing bold and equitable policy solutions. \nLAMPa has been active in advocating for school breakfast for years. SUMMARY:Learn About Advancing Food System Equity at PA Farm Show
DESCRIPTION:Join the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Project J.U.S.T.\, PA Preferred\, the PA Food Policy Council\, and Pennsylvanians from around the Commonwealth for a special event at the 108th Pennsylvania Farm Show. The event aims to foster connections and promote equity in the food system. \nSynod and congregational hunger ministry leaders are invited to join LAMPa staff  at the event on Sunday\, Jan. 7\,  from 4:15 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg in the PA Preferred Banquet Hall. Send us a note to gather with fellow Lutheran hunger advocates around this important part of our work together.  \nAt this in-person gathering\, titled “Connecting Communities & Opportunities: Building Equity in the Food System\,” event organizers will bring together individuals\, organizations\, and communities passionate about creating a fair and inclusive food system for all. Through engaging discussion\, we will explore ways to bridge gaps\, address disparities\, and ensure everyone has access to healthy and sustainable food. \nThe session will feature a dynamic panel from all walks of life across Pennsylvania to share their food stories. We hope for meaningful conversation about the strengths we bring and the challenges we face as we envision the future of our food system.
