Three-Seminar Series on “The Freedom of a Christian”

You are invited to a three-seminar series to study and reflect on Martin Luther’s The Freedom of a Christian . This year marks its 500th anniversary year. This is an invitation to hear, share, and experience the Lutheran witness of the Christian faith as it relates to God’s narrative of freedom in Christ. The  seminar dates are:

Session 1: Wednesday, October 28, 2020 12:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada)

Session 2: Thursday, October 29, 2020 12:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada)

Session 3: Friday, October 30, 2020 12:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada)

Attend this series to explore:

Session 1 – The Rev. Dr.  Carmelo Santos, Ph.D. presents: Luther’s The Freedom of a Christian from Neuroscience and Liberation Theology Perspectives. Dr. Santos serves as the ELCA Director for Theological Diversity and Ecumenical & Interreligious Engagement, Office of the Presiding Bishop.

Session 2 – The Rev. Dr. Moses Paul Peter Penumaka presents: The Freedom of a Christian: Living in Christ and Loving our Neighbors. Dr. Penumaka serves as a Lecturer and Director of Theological Education for Emerging Ministries (TEEM) at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary of California Lutheran University.

Session 3 –  The Rev. Pastor Nicolette Maria Peñaranda presents: The Freedom of a Christian: When Faith Gets Political. The Rev. Peñaranda serves at First Lutheran Church of the Trinity, Metropolitan Chicago Synod, ELCA.
