Resiliency Retreat at Bear Creek Camp

Northeast Pennsylvania Synod’s Creation Care Task Force and Bear Creek Camp are hosting a Resiliency Retreat on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The event is simply a day in the outdoors focusing on loving the outdoors, and the connections between resiliency, disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation and our role as the church,” said Julia Menzo, Director of Community Outreach for Liberty Lutheran/Lutheran Congregational Services.

The event is open to people from all synods.

Events include:

  • Hikes of various difficulites
  • Disaster preparedness training for congregations
  • Training on how to create a workteam for disaster response
  • Learning about local wildlife and native plants in Bear Creek Camp
  • Discussion around care for creation

Attendees can participate in as many or as few events as they like.

The cost of the event is $20 per person, $10 for children under 16. This includes lunch.  To register, send payment to Lutheran Congregational Services, Attn: Dianne Fox, Lutheran Center, 2354 Grove Road, Allentown, PA  18109.  Registration and payment is due Sept. 18.  For more information, contact Julia Menzo at Lutheran Congregational Services.
