Pennsylvania Health Access Network Schedules Annual Conference

Oct 28, 2019

The Pennsylvania Health Access Network (PHAN) is holding their 11th annual health conference on Monday, October 28, in Harrisburg at the Crowne Plaza. This year’s theme is  “A New Path Forward: Moving Toward Fairer, More Equitable Healthcare in Pennsylvania”.  One of the Keynote speaker’s for this year’s event is Commissioner Jessica Altman of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.

Commissioner Altman will give attendees up-to-date information on plans for Pennsylvania’s new state-based health insurance marketplace — which passed the PA legislature just this summer — and discuss how it will save Pennsylvanians money in out-of-pocket healthcare costs!

This conference brings together advocates, policy experts, lawmakers, activists, and other stakeholders to learn about key issues facing Pennsylvanians when accessing care and to discuss how we can collectively build a fairer, more affordable, more just healthcare system in the Commonwealth.

Those attending will discuss issues like:
• The High & Rising Costs of Prescription Drugs,
• Pennsylvania’s New Online Health Insurance Marketplace,
• Transportation as a Social Determinant of Health,
• Ending Surprise Medical Bills in Pennsylvania, &
• The Role of Grassroots Activism in Shaping our Healthcare System

Learn more and register. Early bird registration deadline is September 20.
