Nov. 7 Election Day
Nov 7, 2017 @ 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
Election Day is next week! Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7. If you are in line when polls close, you are still entitled to vote.
Check your voter registration status by name or PA Drivers License/PennDOT ID at https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/Pages/VoterRegistrationStatus.aspx. When you do this, you will also get confirmation on your polling place. Click here for more information on voting in Pennsylvania.
866-OUR-VOTE is an Election Protection coalition and hotline number that you can use to report if you run into or observe problems in your polling place.
The League of Women Voters provides a nonpartisan voters guide for the November 7 election, with information about all judicial candidates and a ballot question on property taxes. It does not contain information for local candidates. Find lots of helpful information about voting and a link to the voters guide at https://www.palwv.org/2017-general-election-voter-guide/.
Don’t think that because this is an “off year” that you do not need to vote. Judicial elections are highly consequential, as these are the persons who are responsible for decisions about the legality/constitutionality of legislation in Pennsylvania. Also, your local officials matter, because they make decisions that affect your daily lives. The ballot question is important, because it may determine how our education system will be funded in the future. Please don’t “sit it out” because it isn’t a presidential (or senate, house, or gubernatorial) year!
Your vote matters, so make your voice heard on Election Day!
