LARC Day of Dialogue Explores Division in Society, Division in the Church: Healing and Hope for the 21st Century

This year’s Lutheran-Anglican-Roman Catholic (LARC) Day of Dialogue will focus on how Christians can respond to political and theological division in society. The gathering is scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Diocese of Harrisburg. The day will feature speakers from the three LARC traditions who will each discuss a different aspect of the day’s topic:
• “Ecumenism’s Promise for this Moment in our World” – Dr. Maria Erling, Professor of Modern Church History and Global Mission, United Lutheran Seminary
• “Approaching Adversaries with Love: Reshaping Debate to Achieve Wisdom not Wins” – Mr. Eric Failing, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference
• “Toward a Pastoral Theological Phenomenology of Christian Unity” – The Very Rev. Dr. Amy Doyle Welin, Dean of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, Harrisburg
The day will also include prayer according to the three LARC traditions, lunch together, a panel discussion, as well as time for dialogue and discussion. Learn more and register by October 18.
