June 28 Children’s Rally for Fair Education Funding
Jun 28, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join youth and families from around the state as we gather in Harrisburg on Tuesday, June 28, to call on the general assembly to pass a budget that provides $400 million in new education funding and an on-time budget. Youth are invited to speak out about what education or the funding crisis means to them! Contact LAMPa if you are interested in speaking.
We are calling on House and Senate leaders to make a moral commitment to support Pennsylvania’s children. The withholding of funding from schools across the Commonwealth has robbed children of vital resources and programs. The condition of our schools not only endangers the physical well-being of Pennsylvania students, some of whom go without nurses and running water, but also affects their understanding of their inherent worth as children of God. Our commitment to education is a sign of our hope for the future. It must be a shared hope!
Busing is available through interfaith partners from Pittsburgh, Philadephia and Lehigh Valley areas. Register and sign up here for transportation. Contact LAMPa and let us know you are coming so we can look for you there!
The event is part of the Campaign for Fair Education Funding.
