Civil Conversations Facilitator Training
Interfaith Philadelphia has launched A Year of Civil Conversations throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. Engaging over 50 organizations, including the ELCA Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod, they will offer multiple opportunities to learn how to “speak together differently in order to live together differently.”
In the coming months, Interfaith Philadelphia will offer a number of half-day facilitator trainings that will give participants the skills to organize Civil Conversations in their congregations, workplaces, and communities. These sessions offer community leaders and “bridge people” techniques for grassroots civil conversations that support a thriving religiously diverse democracy. Participants will receive a Civil Conversations facilitator kit to use in their own work going forward.
Facilitator trainings are scheduled for:
Friday, March 29th | 9:30 am – 12:30 pm (for education and youth development professionals)
Friday, April 5th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Participants need only attend one of these training dates in order to become a Civil Conversations facilitator. All trainings with the exception of the February 27 virtual workshop will take place at the Interfaith Philadelphia offices at Oxford Mills (100 W. Oxford St., Philadelphia, PA 19122).
