Introducing New Policy Council Member: Pastor Haley Vay Beaman

Pastor Haley Vay Beaman grew up in an ELCA congregation in Williamsburg, VA where she was baptized and confirmed. She received a B.A. in Theology and Spanish with a concentration in Youth and Family Ministry at Roanoke College and a Master of Divinity in 2012 from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. She currently serves as a pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, York Pa. She represents the Lower Susquehanna Synod on the Policy Council.

Haley Vay enjoys preparing leaders of all ages, cultures and life experiences for lifelong faith formation and service in the church and world. She has a particular heart for bilingual ministry with children and families experiencing social and economic injustice. She enjoys preaching and teaching in English and Spanish, using puppets, music, and multi-media to enhance worship experience.

Haley Vay is married to Bryn who is an engineer. Together they enjoy physical fitness of all sorts: spinning, cardio & weight training, as well as triathlon training. Haley Vay enjoys coffee shops and good conversation, the music scene, DIY projects and spending time with her family.
