ELCA World Hunger
ELCA World Hunger and LAMPa
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America World Hunger and LAMPa are partners working to promote justice and seeking to end hunger in Pennsylvania.
ELCA World Hunger addresses domestic and international poverty through direct relief and by addressing the root causes of hunger. ELCA World Hunger assists communities through:
- Relief: provides food, water, housing, and health care during times of immediate need.
- Education: equips Lutherans to understand the root causes and solutions of hunger and to reflect upon how our own lifestyle choices affect the planet and those most vulnerable.
- Advocacy: speaks with and on behalf of the poor and marginalized by advocating for just laws and business practices with elected officials, governments, and corporations both domestically and internationally.
- Development: creates sustainable, long-term solutions to ending hunger and poverty in families and communities through, for example, agriculture, education, job training, water, and health projects.
